"The Blue Apron" Inn

According to tradition, it was visited by Polish kings: Kazimierz Jagiellończyk and his son Jan Olbracht. Probably, in the XVIII century the inn belonged to the Szalit family. It was known for its excellent wine and beer. The old records say it was originally an artisan inn founded in 1489. It is a baroque apartment house from XVIII century, nowadays turned into a café with stylish interior evoking the baroque period.


 

Rynek Nowomiejski (New Town Market) no. 23

The house used to belong to st. George parish. During recent restoration, the facade was finished in renaissance style and a cartouche with the date of last modernisation in 1887 was discovered. It also contained an inscription certifying that the house was a property of the parish.


 

Masons' Inn apartment house

A gothic apartment house completely reconstructed in XVIII century in baroque style. It used to be an inn of the Masons' Guild. Since 1964 it has been the seat of the Children Fine Arts Centre and Gallery which organizes numerous fine arts activities.


 

The "Golden Lion" pharmacy - Rynek Nowomiejski (New Town Market) no. 13

New Town Market no. 13 is a great house of classicist form, which it received in the first half of the XIX century. It is a former gothic building now housing the New Market Pharmacy, currently called “The Golden Lion”.


 

Apartment house - Królowej Jadwigi street no. 3

In Królowej Jadwigi street no. 3 survived a renaissance small apartment house with a well preserved fixture-type gable, ie. a gable with flat decorative bands. It was originally a gothic double-axle apartment house of which only a part of a pointed arch portal between the first floor windows remains.


 

Apartment house - Małe Garbary street no 7

A very interesting four-axle late-renaissance apartment house from XVII century of medieval origin. After general renovation, it was discovered that the facade of the house used to be black, so the original colour was restored. It is a rarity to find that also the facade is rusticated from the bottom to the top. Green window frames and bright band-type gable ornaments standing out from the black background underline the grandeur of the house. After conservation and rebuilding of the interior, a stylish "Ebony" hotel with a restaurant and a café was set up in the house.


 

Apartment house - Małe Garbary street no. 9

In no. 9 stands a building which, after general reconstruction and conservation, was adapted to the needs of "Warta" Ltd. Insurance Company. Roof windows were placed in the back of the house to enable the viewing of a part of the building’s structure with a XIX century chimney left from a ginger-bread factory of Gustaw Weese.
